Pedals  

The pedals that are incorporated into the Niceday Magnetic Exercise Bike are dual-sided. This means that one side of the pedals is toe caged with adjustable safety straps, while the flip side of them is SPD which supports special spin shoes.  

Here you have the option to either train with standard gym shoes or special spin shoes.  

The pedals are strong enough to support users of diverse weights and can accommodate different foot sizes securely and comfortably. Interestingly, they have a standard 9/16” thread. So, you can easily have them replaced if you want with another set of pedals.  

The Drive 

The Niceday Magnetic Exercise Bike is belt driven. This means that the drive system consists of a poly v-belt, a steel pulley, solid crank-arms, a crankset, and a heavy 45 lbs./20.4 kg high inertia flywheel.

The Resistance 

This fitness cycling bike has a manual magnetic resistance system that does not need electricity to function because it is manually adjustable and the console does not have to automatically select the resistance level. 

There are about 100 micro-adjustable resistance levels available. To increase or decrease the resistance level, simply twist the tension control knob clockwise or counterclockwise, respectively.  

The resistance system provides diverse workout challenges that are suitable for everyone at any fitness level, including advanced cycling professionals.  

Since the resistance system is magnetic, the operation of the fitness cycling bike remains smooth, quiet, and vibration-free because no friction occurs when resistance is in effect.  

To put it differently, the resistance system comprises elements such as the flywheel, a 2-sided magnetic brake pad, and the tension knob. So, what happens is that, when the tension knob is adjusted, the 2-sided magnetic brake pad which is on the flywheel will release magnetic fields as it goes down or upward (without directly touching the flywheel) to generate resistance.  

Therefore, no friction occurs and no part wears out during the process of generating resistance. So, it will suffice to say that the resistance system is also maintenance-free since no part will be required for replacement at any point in time.  

The Console 

The Niceday Magnetic Exercise Bike features a console that is Bluetooth-enabled and compatible with Kinomap and iCONSOLE+ apps. It features an LCD monitor that can track and display multiple workout data simultaneously. 

The monitor tracks workout data such as Time, Total Distance, Distance, Speed, and Calories Burned.  

The display is clear and bold, but might be difficult to view in a room with little or no light because the monitor is not backlit.  

As aforementioned, it is not clear if the console is telemetric, but the manual suggests there is a heart rate function, if this is correct, then it would be that the Bluetooth could sync to a wireless heart rate chest strap.  

The buttons on the console include Recovery, Reset, Set, and Mode.  

It is possible to set a countdown goal for Time, Distance, and Calories Burned.  

There are no built-in programs but the Bluetooth syncs to Kinomap and iCONSOLE+ apps for a more quality workout experience. Connecting to any of these workout apps would avail the possibility of racing on virtual trails, access to workout videos, tracking your workout progress online, and more.  

The workout apps are free to download from app stores and are available for Android and Apple phones. However, the free resources on the Kinomap app are limited, and it will require a subscription in order to unlock more exciting features.  

The Accessory 

The unit has a tablet holder that is situated on the handlebar. It is for the purpose of holding a smartphone/tablet device within reach so that the user can take calls, watch workout or entertainment videos, and more.   

There are also 2 plastic water bottle holders that are attached to the main frame tubing, below the handlebar. They will enable you to keep water handy for hydration purposes.  

Finally, there are 2 dumbbell holders that are attached to the horizontal frame of the saddle. They are made of alloy steel and they could hold light weight dumbbells. They are similar to those on the Muuv Smart Cycling Bike.  

Just to be clear, dumbbells do not come with the bike. They have to be purchased separately.

The Niceday Magnetic Exercise Bike is not foldable, but it isn’t large to take up too much space.
