Frame & Construction 

The Body-Solid B4R Endurance Recumbent Bike has a commercial-grade steel frame. The frame is coated with black anti-corrosion paint, while the console casing, the drive system covers, and the seat’s backrest frame are made of durable and quality plastic.  

The recumbent bike supports 300 lbs./136 kg maximum user weight capacity.

The Resistance 

The Body-Solid B4R Endurance Recumbent Bike is equipped with a motorized magnetic resistance system that utilizes magnets, a servo motor, and the flywheel to generate resistance without friction.  

This means that the resistance is generated without the internal elements rubbing off on each other, instead magnetic fields are released around the flywheel to cause a drag that ultimately produces resistance.  

This also means that the bike’s operation will remain smooth and quiet and won’t require any replacement of parts in the long run.  

For the resistance to work, the bike needs to be plugged into a 120V power outlet, thus, a power adapter is included in the package.

The smart recumbent bike console has some interesting features that include the LED monitor, preset workout programs, user profiles, and more.  

First of all, the easy-to-read LED display tracks Time, Distance, Speed, Watts, RPM, calories, and Heart Rate. All the workout stats are displayed simultaneously on the segmented monitor screen.  

Speed and Distance measurement units can be toggled between mph/miles and km/h/km.  

The heart rate can be monitored when the handlebars with heart rate sensors are grasped during a workout or when a wireless HR chest strap (not included, to be purchased separately) is worn.  

There are 12 built-in programs that include Manual, Strength, Cardio, Hill, Fat Burn, Interval, Speed Training, Watts, Personal, Fitness, Target Heart Rate, and Random.

There are 3 preset Heart Rate Controls that include 55%, 75%, and 90%, and a custom Heart Rate.
